bePilates

The Pilates Method is a body conditioning system developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. Contemporary Pilates includes more than 500 exercises designed to uniformly strengthen the body and focus the mind.

  • Pilates exercises are practiced on different apparatus to maximize results and prevent boredom.
  • Pilates precise movements and mindful breathing teach body awareness.
  • Spinal and pelvic stability improve coordination and balance.
  • A strong powerhouse and core helps prevent injury and stress on the joints and spine.

"If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young."
Joseph H. Pilates

At bePhysique, we offer Pilates apparatus instruction in private, duet and trio sessions.

Our private instruction includes postural assessment with an emphasis on screening muscular development and overall symmetry. Custom programs are designed to correct any misalignments and achieve specific goals determined by the client and instructor.

Mat Physique: Pilates Floor Classes

The focus of this class is correct alignment, posture and form. A nontraditional mat class, bePilates informs and challenges the powerhouse (abs, back, hips and seat). Learning to access Pilates' powerhouse as well as the correct deep core muscles is essential to a successful Pilates and barre practice.

We recommend these classes to Pilates and barre fitness beginners as well as to those clients who wish to deepen their home practice and studio workouts. Contemporary Pilates alignment principles are applied to functional movement, injury pervention as well as strength training and barre exercises. Classes include foam roller and stability cushions, balls and weights.

Please contact us at info@bephysique.com with any questions regarding these sessions. We are happy to discuss how Pilates can assist you in realizing your fitness goals.
